Tanvi Jain is an architectural designer, researcher, and author currently working at Eric Parry Architects in London. Trained as an architect, her practice spans design, research and writing with a focus on water, ecology, and heritage. She pursued an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Cambridge, UK (RIBA Part 2), and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from CEPT University, India. Her Cambridge design thesis advocated for decentralized, self-sufficient approaches to water management across various scales from settlements and neighbourhoods to domestic end-users.
Tanvi has practiced as an architect in India and is the co-founder of eco-habitats, an organisation dedicated to affordable housing in Madhya Pradesh. She was a co-curator and researcher for the travelling exhibition Stepwells of Ahmedabad, hosted at the Cooper Union (New York), Yale University (New Haven), the Kanoria Centre for Arts, and Gandhi Ashram (India) She is also the co-author of Stepwells of Ahmedabad: Water, Gender and Heritage, and has contributed to research and design initiatives such as On the Cusp of Land and Water, a Vastushilp International Habitat Studio.
